If you are friends of Monkey Puzzle St Albans you will know that we love to celebrate and March 2017 has allowed for lots of dressing up, laughter, paint and more as the children and staff celebrated not just one but five different special days! St David’s Day saw the nursery turned into a blaze of red, green and white. The children dressed in the colours of the flag and printed with leeks. Looked carefully as they produced observational drawings of fresh daffodils to create their own Welsh art work.
World Book Day is an annual event which brings smiles to all involved and allows for stories to come alive as the nursery dresses in their favourite book characters.
For St Patricks Day, green, white and orange shredded paper was ripped up for our youngest babies to explore while our older children listened to Irish music, made shamrock pictures, played with green glittery play-doh, splashed in green bubbly water and if that wasn’t enough all the children ate Irish stew and colcannon.
The month ends with one of the most important days of the year…Mothering Sunday! All the children made small personalised canvases as gifts for their mother.
The nursery raised £257 for Red Nose Day by cooking and decorating biscuits and playing with red everything all day!
