The whole nursery celebrated Eid at the start of June. The children dressed in beautiful, brightly coloured embroidered traditional dress including jewelled head wear and tried festive food such as dates and homemade vegetarian samosas. The children also role played festive feasts and our oldest children made Eid hanging mobiles.
Our youngest children in Blue Monkeys have been exploring how things work. By making different musical instruments and putting things together they discovered that they could make various sounds and noises.
The beautiful weather this month has brought with it beautiful learning opportunities, language and activities with the children making their own fresh fruit ice lollies, sliding into cool foam, running through water sprinklers and enjoying their outside areas that were turned into the ‘beach’ with sand, water, buckets and spades and shady areas to relax. Summer art has been proudly displayed with beach balls, rock pools and crabs. We also talked about staying safe in the sun wearing hats, wearing sun cream, drinking water and relaxing in the shade.
