At Monkey Puzzle Ridgmont Rd, we believe that it is important to fill the nursery with lovely resources which provide excellent learning opportunities, we pride ourselves on the beautiful toys and equipment available to our children. We regularly update, replace and replenish resources to ensure the children are both stimulated and excited. This Month, we purchased a large range of new resources of which the children have been showing a huge amount of curiosity in. Some of these resources, such as the foam look-a-like household bricks, elephant shaped watering cans and giant teapots were used by the children to express their love of role-play activities as the new resources sparked their imaginations and took them to imaginary worlds. The assortment of reflective sensory shapes have also been delved into with enthusiasm, all the children have been intrigued with how things feel and look, and have shown fascination in the different ways the mirrored surfaces reflect the light. Many of the new resources are extremely tactile and allow for lots of sensory stimulation. As well as the interesting resources that we purchase, we also value the amazing natural resources in and around our nursery setting. The milder weather in May has ensured that the children have spent even more time in the nursery outside areas. We have watched the clouds and talked about the shapes they make, we have a bamboo tree planted in our garden and we have looked for insects and bugs and using the our outside poster for reference.
