Continuing the celebrations of Hannukah the whole nursery have enjoyed creating pictures and discussing the remembrance of the temples menorah lasting for eight days and having some traditional Jewish meals. Bumblebees had lots of fun colouring in menorahs and getting creative exploring play dough rolling it into balls then pressing down to create circles! We have also been busy getting into the Christmas spirit creating cards and listening to Christmas songs as it gets closer! Bumblebees have enjoyed exploring cornflour listening to snow songs and talking with their carers about how cold snow is and what we can make using snow! We have also enjoyed our Christmas themed Tiny Mites sessions and can’t wait for the festivities to begin! Ladybirds have enjoyed using musical instruments to shake and play alongside singing nursery rhymes, and Christmas jingles! We have also been busy using our gross motor skills to push the cars along in the garden and discuss with our carers what cars need to drive! We then pushed the cars to the top of the hill and watched as they rolled down even with us in the seat sometimes! Butterflies have had a very busy month with exploring new materials within their tufty trays! They have been mixing water and food colouring to create new colours of water, then making animals swim in the sea! Butterflies have also been matching letters to word boards discussing with their carers what letters they are using and sounding out the word they created! Throughout the celebration of Hannukah Butterflies enjoyed creating a spaghetti menorah with glitter for the flames on the candle then mixing it together, as well as holding discussions with their carers about why we celebrate Hannukah and how long the candle burnt for. Santa Claus is coming to town! The nursery is getting excited for the big guy to come and visit and the festivities to begin! We look forward to seeing all the children in their festive jumpers and outfits and hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.December News
