This Month, the Animal Man visited the nursery bringing a wide variety of interesting creatures for the children to touch, stroke, feed and hold. Among them, we held ‘Charlie’ the Chinchilla, ‘Wiffy’ the Skunk and ‘Kisses’ the Snake, as well as an Armadillo, Possum, Owl, Bat, Chameleon, Meerkat, Cockroach, and many more. The children listened with fascination as the Animal Man shared interesting facts and funny stories about the different creatures.
February’s celebrations brought a lot of fun as well as great learning opportunities for the children at Monkey Puzzle…….
The children discovered how to make pancakes for Shrove Tuesday; learning how to crack eggs, weigh ingredients and use tools to combine the mixture. Laughter was heard throughout the nursery as Pancake Flipping Races took place!
Valentine’s day provided us with an opportunity to talk about people we care about and discussions were shared about things we love. The children in all age groups got creative making cards and gifts to take home, and exploring a range of heart shaped activities.
Chinese New Year brought a little bit of the Chinese culture to Orient Close, as the children listened to Chinese music, tasted traditional Chinese food and discovered how to use chop sticks!
