We are only in early 2015, but already discoveries and amazing learning experiences are off to a tremendous start at Monkey puzzle. Fantastic February has been full of celebrations for us and our little ones; Valentine’s Day, Waitangi Day, Pancake day and Chinese New Year.
Blue Monkeys explored through touchy feely textures this month. Paint, glitter, shiny paper shades of pinks/reds were used to decorate a big heart which hung perfectly in their room just in time to celebrate Valentine’s Day, this was a big team effort for our babies and created many happy messy moments.
Let’s get messy… our Pink Monkeys have had a wonderful time using their creative, imaginative minds and crafting hands to celebrate. Pancakes were not only served as second course with a choice of scrumptious toppings….healthy of course for our children to taste, they were also cooking away in our Pink Monkeys Kitchen! The children enjoyed flipping their pancakes in their very own saucepans and then decorating and topping them with glitter and paint, yum!!
Happy Chinese New Year… this celebration brought an amazing new experience to our Red Monkeys children. A shadow Theatre was created and the animal puppets took centre stage whilst our children looked on, listening carefully to the story. Later that day through popular demand our magnificent Red Monkeys performed the show to our younger children, who loved it! We also tested our taste buds and fine motor skills when a delicious homemade sweet & sour chicken was served up for lunch, our children were ready and waiting to tuck in with their chop sticks, followed by a lovely vegetable chow mein for tea.
