January arrived & went in a flash…we can’t believe how quick it’s gone!
It has been a busy month for all our little Monkeys and it didn’t take us long to settle back into our nursery routine. Christmas decorations/displays were long forgotten as bright colorful displays have been constructed in their place.
We welcomed many new faces into the Monkey Puzzle, Ridgmont Rd family in all rooms and staffing team.
All areas of Early Years Foundation Stage are planned for and Numeracy is an area that we ensure is always made fun. Working with very young children we understand how important it is for all our children to have a love of numbers, we do this through play. January was a perfect example of outstanding planning as our children played their way through amazing maths activities; whether in the garden, small scale, large scale, messy and wet, messy and dry, collaboratively or solo there has been numbers shouted out, colored in, drawn around, found, submerged or sat on!
January was rounded off with our Chinese New Year Celebrations where the children enjoyed listening to traditional music, tasting Chinese foods, creating Chinese lanterns, exploring chop sticks and the giving of red fortune envelopes and fortune cookies.
G’day mate…Australia Day was celebrated in style with both staff and children wearing red, white and blue, the colours of the Australian flag. We enjoyed a Barbecue feast for lunch & explored varied activities including creating our own flags, Aboriginal painting with cotton buds & exploring stories about Possums and Kangaroos and painted our own Koalas.
Kind Regards
