The busy month of June has provided the children at Monkey Puzzle, Orient Close excellent learning opportunities…
To mark the start of the Fifa World Cup, the whole nursery participated in a football themed day. All the children and staff came to nursery dressed in Football shirts and kits, or colours of their team. Pink Monkeys used number stampers to print onto the back of football shirts, developing mathematics knowledge and discovering number names. The children spent most of the day in our lovely outside areas with the opportunity to be active and learn new ball skills. Lots of cheering and laughter could be heard during the Red Monkeys’ penalty shoot out when everyone had the chance to score a goal!
To celebrate Eid… Red Monkeys had an opportunity to explore a range of interesting materials and dress-up in traditional clothing. Blue Monkeys delved into a variety of colourful activities such as exploring sensory lights and using their feet to spread bright coloured paint across paper. Pink Monkeys showed a developing interest in mark-making activities whilst creating their own masterpieces by printing with star and moon shapes. On the menu, all the children enjoyed tasting dates for fruit snack, Homemade Vegetable Biryani for Lunch with Semolina for second course and Homemade Lamb Samosas for tea.
Also this month… the children in all age groups have been busy creating cards and gifts to take home to their loved ones to celebrate Father’s Day!
