The darker mornings and the clocks changing always symbolize the start of the very busy month of October with activities, celebrations and learning…
The nursery turned into a ‘nursery of light’ for Diwali with all the children experiencing sensory lights, colourful paper, traditional dress, traditional music, traditional food and some wonderful activities to explore light, colour and colour mixing. All the children’s senses were planned for.
Halloween is definitely a favourite time of the year for the children at Monkey Puzzle, Orient Close. We all dress up (and the nursery!), delve into a spooky menu, paint, splat, print, cut, press and sprinkle through messy, gooey activities that have been planned with our children’s individual interest in mind. The children often work collaboratively and Halloween is no exception with large scale ghosts, cats and pumpkins being decorated over the week using different materials and media.
