An autumnal art palette arrived with enthusiasm at the start of October with golds, oranges, browns and reds being used to explore and learn all about the events of October.
The nursery outside areas and the parks around the nursery were used often this month, with lots of leafy walks and planned outside activities.
Halloween is always a fun, colourful time especially when you are under 5 years old! The whole nursery dressed up and delved into gooey swamps, made bats, ghosts, pumpkins, and skeletons. Everyone ate an amazing homemade spooky menu and all the wonderful art work has been proudly displayed throughout the rooms. Displaying a child’s creation is an important part of the ethos at Monkey Puzzle as it is important for all children to feel both proud and accomplished.
And relax…Our youngest babies were given an opportunity to relax as their carers created an inside zen garden using soft mats and sensory materials. The Toddlers and pre-school room practiced yoga this month thinking about their bodies and their breathing, to help the children be great ‘yogis’ music and art was used to create atmosphere, to allow the children to really visualize the movement they were drawing large circles on oversized paper.
