Our lovely Jossie Leaver attended Monkey Puzzle Nursery, Ridgmont Road from June 2014 to August 2017, when she left to start school. In November 2017, Jossie was diagnosed with a high-risk Neuroblastoma and faced many months of intensive treatment. Brave Jossie underwent surgery, cycles of chemotherapy and radiotherapy but, tragically, lost her battle in November this year. Hugely touched by the news, many of the staff and parents/carers at Monkey Puzzle Nursery St Albans, wanted to show their support, and with a request from Jossie’s Mum and Dad, we decided to raise money for Keech Hospice Care. Keech Hospice Care is one of only a few hospices in the country caring for both adults and children, and their vital support extends to the family and friends of their patients too. As a charity, they provide free, specialist care for adults in Luton and South Bedfordshire, and children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes, who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses. Their excellent specialist care supports adults and children to live pain and symptom free, to spend untroubled time with their family and friends, to understand what’s happening to them, to stay out of hospital and to make the most of the time they have. Our target was to raise £1000, for Keech Hospice Care, but to our great joy we smashed this target and raised over £3000. We achieved this figure through hosting a bring and buy sale, baking and selling cakes in our reception and printing our very own Monkey Puzzle Cook Book! Well done to everyone who helped raise this incredible amount for our worthy cause!Raising Money for a Wonderful Cause
