Our sister nursery, Monkey Puzzle Regents Terrace, had lots of fun celebrating World Space week across their nursery.

The children enjoyed making playdough with black paint and silver glitter (for the night sky/stars/space). They also used blue and green paints to mix together (for the world). Using the Globe for visual representation of the planet earth the children used the green and blue shapes to create their own interpretation of the planet earth with varying and interesting views. The children seemed to enjoy this activity and it helped their understanding in many ways about what goes on in Space and what Astronauts do. One child rolled out the black playdough, then placed their ball of blue and green in the middle; they said “this is the world in the sky in space.”

The babies also joined in the fun creating their own interpretation of the galaxy by painting it using brushes and white paint mixed with glitter on black cardboard. The babies also played with the “meteors and space rocks” made from foil and brown paper. The children played with the “galaxy” playdough mixed with different colours to make the Milky Way! Special thanks to the amazing team for putting this together.
